The 17th of May is Norway's National Day. The Constitution of Norway was signed on 17th of May 1814. The Constitution declared Norway to be an independent kingdom. We celebrate with a children's parade (no military pomp!), brass bands play to our hearts delight and we dress up in centuries old folk costumes, wave our flags to show our pride in our sovereignty and independence. This series is from Oslo, outside the Royal Castle where school children salut our King, Queen and their offspring.
